One Year On!

I got a little Happy Anniversary wish from WordPress today! It’s been a whole year since I started writing here and I’ve loved doing this blog. I started it in the first place as a record of how I made something and have used it as that many a time.

I have also had the pleasure of reading many, many wonderful blogs – mostly by crafty people like myself but also some other ones that I would never have come across had it not been for this foray into becoming Made By Yours Truly, so thank you to many of you (and my regular followees (?!) know who they are, so thank you to you in particular).

In this past year in the world  I have learned a great deal about little techniques of how to do certain things (I no longer, for example, have to think about how to lay out the fabric to make a bag with a lining and manage to get the handles and the lining all ending up in the right direction!); I have begun to do patchwork and crochet, neither of which were even words in my vocabulary before this; I have had successes at craft fairs and met wonderfully interesting people as a result; I have gained in confidence and am not afraid to give new projects a go and am no longer afraid to show people what I can do and even have my own little website where people have bought things I make and come back for seconds!; I now understand the acronym WIP (which I would have thought was something very dodgy before :D) and have many, many WIPs (or should that be WsIP??). Some of those will, I fear, always be IP and never complete 🙂 but most of all I have made things. Just a few hundred things 😀 and many of you (over 30,000 to date!) have popped in to have a look at my ramblings about those things along the way, so thank you to you also for not making me feel like this is simply an online diary for myself.
