Re-found my “Sew Mojo”
Muddy Waters eat your heart out, as I’ve also got my Mojo working.
It’s been ages and yonks and then some since I last posted. The run-up to Christmas, then holidays (spent on the wet west coast of Scotland, before you get any ideas that I’ve been off sunning myself), then the start of Spring term, birthday celebrations and all sorts have had me way-laid for a few months, but I have now re-found my sewing mojo. (No voodoo involved I hasten to add).
I digress.
I’ve been busy so far this year and had inspiration from all directions, starting off with a commission for a taggy blanket for a friend’s brand new niece who was born at the end of December ,
and a couple of commissions from a lovely lady from playgroup who wanted a couple of similar but different make-up rolls
for her teenage granddaughters.
Then my lovely sister and brother-in-law got me a subscription to a newish magazine called Craftseller which I’d not seen before. It had some lovely projects in so I started off by making a version of the baby booties ~ how sweet are they?
Lastly I adapted a pattern from a sweet little book, Wee Wonderfuls, that a friend of a friend lent me, and made an upside-down doll as I always wanted one as a child so thought my Little People would appreciate one too. We’ve called them Penelope and Sally and they seem to have been well received despite the wonkiness in places
!
I’ve also decided that I’m going to try and make at least one crafty thing per week throughout 2013 ~ predominantly because that’s the pattern that’s evolved so far this year, and also inspired by the same idea from So Resourceful’s wonderful blog ~ hers was the one that inspired me to start blogging last year and I hope she sees this as the flattery it’s meant to be 🙂
Watch this space for February’s ‘makes’.
Hope to catch up with all your lovely makes soon too.
welcome back, stranger 🙂
I love the booties, and especially love the dolls. They will treasure those.
Thanks Jill – it’s nice to be back.:)
Penelope/Sally is only one doll that you turn upside down to make two. Ingenious.
Right. I knew that. (Had a late night…) 🙂
To be fair to you, I didn’t explain it nor showed it 😀
Great to see you here again and glad your mojo is back. My mojo never left but since I went back to work I am struggling to find sewing time 😦 might have to give up on cleaning instead (not that a lot of that gets done anyway!!)
Sewing takes precedence over cleaning any day 😀
sewing is great specially when with creative thought , yours great teaching effort and my inclination of learning and making beautiful things ……… with a sense of satisfaction for myself
